Ajivika Sect in Ancient India
The Ajivika Sect was an ancient heterodox (nāstika) ascetic movement founded by Makkhali Gosāla in the 5th century BCE, contemporaneous with Buddhism and Jainism. Known for its doctrine of Niyati (fate), it asserted that every event was predetermined and denied the existence of free will.
