Spread of Buddhism under Ashoka

Ashoka's transformation after the Kalinga War led him to embrace Buddhism and actively propagate the Dhamma. He commissioned and restored stupas and cave temples at Sarnath, Sanchi, Ajanta, and Bodh Gaya, and dispatched missionaries to Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, and Hellenistic kingdoms, making Buddhism a global faith.
