- After Pulakesin II’s death, the dynasty weakened due to Pallava invasions.
- Final ruler Kirtivarman II was defeated by Dantidurga, founder of the Rashtrakuta dynasty in 753 CE.
- Their successors, the Western Chalukyas, revived the legacy from Kalyani in the 10th century.
