Four Noble Truths

  1. Dukkha (The Truth of Suffering): All existence is marked by suffering and dissatisfaction, including birth, aging, illness, and death.
  2. Samudaya (The Truth of the Origin of Suffering): Craving (taṇhā) and ignorance give rise to suffering through attachment and desire.
  3. Nirodha (The Truth of the Cessation of Suffering): The extinguishing of craving and ignorance leads to the end of suffering, known as Nirvāṇa.
  4. Magga (The Truth of the Path to the Cessation of Suffering): The Noble Eightfold Path provides the practical steps to end suffering.
