Sakas (Indo-Scythians)
- 🌍 Originated as Iranic Scythian tribes migrating from the Eurasian steppe into Sindh, Gujarat, and Punjab (c. 150 BCE).
- 👑 Governance retained Achaemenid-Mauryan satrapal system under Kshatrapas (governors) and Mahakshatrapas (senior governors).
- 🪙 Coinage fused Greek legends, Kharoshthi/Brahmi scripts, and iconography like elephants, horsemen, and sun symbols.
- 🛕 Cultural patronage included rock edicts (Junagadh), Buddhist stupas, and Indo-Scythian sculpture blending equestrian motifs with Indian deities.
- ⚔️ Decline came after conflicts with Satavahanas; last Western Satrap Rudrasimha III fell to Chandragupta II in 395 CE.
